Maleku: Website
Challenges After winning of Nolcha’s Beyond the Runway competition, jewelry designer Ileana Rojas-Bennett needed a website that would better position her brand, Maleku. Her existing site was difficult to navigate and did not provide a way for potential customers to view or purchase her designs. Strategy We conceived of the new Maleku website as a place for Ileana to tell more in-depth stories about her brand and to show customers the full range of jewelry that Maleku offers. We recommended a customizable ecommerce platform as the foundation for the website to allow for easy updates. Dedicated areas for marketing imagery and featured products were allocated, and clear categories were created so that the consumer could easily browse jewelry offerings. Design The design was based around the tagline, “Jewerly inspired by the colors of the rainforest.” We used a lush rainforest image as a background, allowing for a simple, clean design to exist within it. Rainforest-inspired colors were brought in to create a color-coded navigation by section, helping to make browsing even easier. Success The site is currently under development.
