The Gutter

2007_09_gutter1.jpg This weekend, Ellen got some friends out to a new and soon to be popular Williamsburg/Greenpoint hangout. The Gutter (opened by the owners of Williamsburg’s Barcade) is Brooklyn’s new bar/bowling alley. With the new growing trend of tacky disco-like bowling alleys, The Gutter is actually cool. Located amongst the abandoned factories near the river the atmosphere is right on. The vintage-chic decore is authentic—brought in from Nebraska. Not only is the refurbished alley equipment cool, it is the perfect repurposing fo Nebraskin trash. The night was… a lot of fun. The small alley left a little to desired—the seating is a bit cramped and the bowling a bit pricey (for Brooklyn standards) but the bar and beer selection is great and affordable. Pick up a drink and head to the end of the bar for your bowling shoes! [pictures from a review on Gothamist] 2007_09_gutter2.jpg ]2007_09_gutter3.jpg
