A Must Go
The Storm King Art Center makes for a perfect Labor Day weekend, or any long weekend for that matter. On this Labor Day, both the weather and location delivered. Just 90 minutes outside of the city, Storm King has 500 breathtaking acres of landscape, filled with an awesome collection of postwar sculptures by internationally renowned artists. Unlike other museums, Storm King is a place where you can picnic, run barefoot, breathe in fresh air —you can even touch the art. I truly enjoyed the endless variety of greens, blues, reds, oranges and grays. Storm King is a great place to release stress and escape NYC’s craziness.
Tips: Bring your camera with at least 1 GB memory and some food (unless you don’t mind the vending machine’s snacks). Thanks to Ellen Johnston for her recommendation. For more information visit their site.
