More Eco-friendly Than a Tree?
I came across this eco-friendly wooden Christmas tree on a few blogs this weekend. Apparently this tree is 80% more eco-friendly than real trees and it is made from environmentally “aware” materials. To read-up on the facts you can download this thorough pdf. In summary, the tree’s “eco-ness” is justified compared to the waste created over “the time frame that five pine trees are grown, transported, purchased, maintained and disposed of.” So you have to use it for 5 Christmases to make it worth it. It was designed by an Aussie studio, Buro North. I posted detail images below. I love the way it is packaged — surely a way better alternative to the giant box for the fake-tree in my apt, and WAY better looking. I want one for Christmas ’08!
