Beach Art

A few weeks ago I went on vacation to St. John, US Virgin Island. While there, I discovered a beach art project: Hundreds of little stone figurines sitting on rocks, spread all over the bay. I assume a group of people made them because there were so many! The overall impression was both stunning and somehow disturbing: there was something macabre about the mass of little stone people washed ashore. At the same time, they individually looked cute and funny. Some of them had nice little details, others looked surprisingly human. If you want to see more beach art pictures click “read more”.
