One Cold Hand
Last week my mom sent me a newspaper clipping about a woman in Pittsburgh dedicated to reuniting lost gloves and mittens. Jennifer Gooch is a Pittsburgh resident who features gloves/mittens she has found, or others have mailed in, on her site One Cold Hand. The site itself is a sort of lost and found box for those who have lost a glove or mitten. Users can search the site for their lost items by either location or type, and email Jennifer to organize the reunion. It started in Pittsburgh (which would’ve been very convenient for me while I served my time there). Conveniently, someone has recently started a New York chapter as well. It must take quite a team effort to make even the tiniest dent, given the number of gloves I see lying around daily. At any rate, it’s a nice effort toward keeping more hands warm this winter.
