Wisconsin Winter Wonderland

Marc, Sheri and I headed out to Wisconsin this week to meet with a client. For all of you New Yorkers concerned that snow is an endangered precipitation, it’s alive and well in the town of Sheboygan. While we’ve had quite a mild winter over here, they’ve gotten more than their share – there was at least a foot on the ground. Located on Lake Michigan, about an hour north of Milwaukee, Sheboygan (we stayed in Sheboygan Falls) was a charming town, and a nice break from the gray-brown, snowless winter that we’re having.My favorite part was the amazing lunch we had at an old hunting lodge deep in the woods. After driving a few miles on some back roads, we still had to walk a few hundred yards to get to the lodge. Inside was a huge hearth and roaring fire (one of my favorite things about winter).And though we only spent about six hours there, the inn also had a very charming, midwest feeling. With the snow it felt like a Norman Rockwell painting – classic Americana. In all, not a bad place to remember what winter is supposed to be like. Even if it was only for 24 hours.
