After dinner we head to the local onsen (Japanese bath house). Japan has something like over 10,000 natural hot springs, and soaking in them has become a national pastime. Many of the homes, like Ayako's, don't have heat, and I can see why this might be where you want to go to bathe. This onsen is only $6 and is almost as awesome as our favorite spa/disney world, Spa Castle in Queens. They show movies in the sauna and have an electricity pool with a low level of electric current. The last one is really a first for me, but Ayako swears that some women find it pleasing. I gave it a try but I have to say it was not comfortable.
