Well so far this has been a MUCH more challenging resolution than giving up bottled water, but then again it is more encompassing. So far I've had 2 set backs, both when traveling without my purse.

The bigger challenge has been ordering in. One solution that is working is forcing us to go out rather than stay in. It's a great way to show support to your local neighborhood.

I have also been successful at convincing the restaurant to send the order in a metal container. Although this is annoying to communicate, surprisingly this too IS working.

It seems that people are receptive to special requests in the name of the environment. I've now taken to insisting that people put my sandwich in the bag without the plastic container and this too actually does work!

However, the annoyance of servicing me just went to a whole new level. Most everyone is generally flustered. I'm trying one step at a time to build relationships in my neighborhood so they understand I'm not simply nuts.

I love your determination in becoming a more eco-friendly person!

Whenever I slip up and have no choice but to get a plastic bag or container I try to always reuse them as many times as possible, I guess every little step helps.
